The AKU Challenge (scholarship) Programme
In honour of Saida and Firoz Rasul
The Programme
This is a two-week residential programme which does not have a tuition fee. The University pays for boarding and lodging. The programme offers rigorous, intellectually stimulating and developmental co-curricular activities. There are opportunities:
To enhance critical thinking skills
To strengthen your presentation, reading and writing skills
To understand the need for research and spend time in the AKU laboratories with highly qualified University faculty
For career guidance to help you choose the ‘right’ career
To listen to the life stories of our alumni and leadership of the University who will share with you the secrets of their success
To help you appreciate the need for a broad based education in preparing for professional life
To learn how to enjoy numbers
To participate in sports
To learn First aid
To go to low-income areas and understand how you as an individual can make a difference in their lives
To tour historical sites in Karachi
Who can apply?
Candidates following any national system of education in Pakistan or are registered with the AKU Examination Board, and fulfil the following criteria, may apply:
Achieved at least 80% in the Secondary School (SSC) / Matric examinations (any group i.e. Science, Commerce, Humanities and Arts). AND
Will be completing the Higher Secondary School (HSSC) examinations in 2025.
How to Apply?
Application Deadline is April 22, 2024. Candidates are required to apply online. Following documents must be uploaded with the online application.
One clear photograph showing your full face (no selfie and party picture)
Secondary School Certificate (SSC) mark sheet
College ID card / Enrollment Card
B-form / National Identity Card
Application fee payment receipt / Acknowledgement email received from the AKU Finance Office

Application fee is Rs 1,000. Banking details are as follows:

Please note:
- The application fee is non-refundable.
- Admit card to write the test will be emailed to students.
- All related communication will be made through email. Please make sure that you have a valid functional email address.
Candidates applying to the programme must write the AKU Challenge Test on Saturday, July 20, 2024. Details will be provided in the admit card. Alternate opportunities are not available.
