The Aga Khan University (AKU) Library supports the research, informational and instructional needs of the AKU Community, particularly students, faculty and staff. The Library started operations in 2001 when the University was established. The Library has a collection of resourses in education andhealth which includes print books, dissertations, journals, education al reports, newspapers, audio/visual and digital media. The library have also subscribed to different databases that provides access to world class online journals, and e-books which are accessed by users. Since its establishment, the library has experienced steady growth in its collection and currently has over 12,000 volumes of print books covering all subjects in which the University offers courses.

Through the local libraries consortium (COTUL) the library benefits from the PERI on-line resources which each library contributes and therefore get access. The library has also individually subscribed to online resources databases like EBSCOhost, ERIC, UpToDate, ClinicalKey Nursing, Hinari, ClinicalKey for Physicians, AccessMedicine, Cochrane Library and Proquest e-books.

The library provides Information Literacy training to users in order to equip them with skills so that they can be competent and independent on accessing the library services and information. The library embraces the use of modern technology in information service provision, it is equipped with modern ICT facilities such as Smart TV for streamlining online educational videos, video & audio players, computers, Wi-Fi connection and such, in order to make sure that technology is not a barrier on accessing information.

The library in collaboration with other AKU Libraries globally and some local libraries have an arrangement of resource sharing which enhances coverage of resources for its users.
