Education

The Section of Psychiatry plays an important role in teaching our internal medicine residents on the principle of the brain and behavior.  Our section further enhances the University's education objective by:

  • Organizing a psychiatry module for internal medicine residents focusing on the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of various mental health disorders

  • Supervision and teaching of residents in the outpatient clinics

  • Supervision and teaching of a resident on the general medical wards

  • Resident case based lectures

  • Supervision or dissertations, case reports, abstract and other publications

  • Providing mentorship to internal medicine residents

  • Educating faculty and other providers on evidence based mental health disorders

  • Participation in local, national and international committees, conferences and events
