Research

The department has continued to grow in research from humble beginnings and this has been because we have faculty with a strong background in research methodology and statistics. This helps nurture residents in the development and conduct of research projects which are required as part of the training program. Residents undergo research methods training as a common course with residents in other disciplines, then this is followed by departmental seminars in research as well as critical appraisal of research articles during the weekly journal club meeting.

We are proud that our residents based research has a high publication rate and this is based on the aim to do research that will have a clinical impact rather than just to meet graduating requirements.
