A list of publications is available in the ISMC Publications Catalogue.
ISMC’s publications address current trends of thought about Islam, Muslims and Muslim societies.
By creating access to scholarship from Muslim contexts in the English language and on a global platform, ISMC publications foster intellectual exchange and dialogue about and between Muslim societies and cultures.
The Institute publishes three academic publication series in partnership with Edinburgh University Press:
translates into English important contributions to the contemporary debates of the Muslim world, thereby broadening the current debates around Muslim civilisations, which, although global in scope, often overlook works of new and original thinking produced in Muslim contexts.
addresses the contemporary challenges faced by Muslim societies as they evolve in a rapidly globalising world.
publishes abstracts of books produced in Muslim contexts organised around specific themes. These are translated into Arabic, Turkish and English and are published in print and online.
In partnership with a variety of publishers, ISMC also publishes:
illustrate the dynamism of scholarship, the critical reassessment of heritages and histories, the rapidly accelerating impetus towards social change and globalisation, and the urgent upheavals around notions of governance and civil life that are taking place in Muslim communities today.
