Work underway for a Gender-based Violence Referral Directory in partnership with local stakeholders in Chitral
The GBV research team at AKU-SONAM is now working on a gender-based violence Referral Directory, as a pilot programme in Chitral. This will serve as a valuable tool for practitioners, service providers, and community members by providing a referral checklist to guide them in identifying appropriate services and support for victims to ensure a timely and effective response to GBV cases.
This initiative is being carried out for the first time in Chitral, in collaboration with key local stakeholders, including the district police, district commissioner, population welfare department, policewomen’s desk, police legal team, lawyers, president of the press club, child protection cell, social welfare psychologists, and political influencers.
This is a part of the Sehatmand Khandan project - funded by Global Affairs Canada, and implemented in partnership between the United Nations Populations Fund, UNFPA, The Aga Khan Foundation and The Aga Khan University.
