The School of Nursing and Midwifery (SONAM) is an active member of the nursing professional bodies of Pakistan including Pakistan Nursing Council and Pakistan Nurses, Midwives Federation

These bodies are responsible for setting and approving curricula for various nursing programmes offered in the country, providing licenses for practice and developing policies to improve the quality of healthcare provided by nurses and midwives.

Nursing and Midwifery Leaders' Forum

SONAM leads an advocacy group for nurses and midwives with representations from the Pakistan Nursing Council; Pakistan Nurses, Midwives Federation; Midwifery Association of Pakistan, deans and directors of the nursing and midwifery schools; and nurse leaders and managers from the clinical practice areas across Sindh.
