Knowledge Synthesis: Systematic Reviews in Health and Social Sciences
PhD Level Course - Open to Healthcare Professional

This course is designed for graduate students to enable them to gain a methodological understanding of how evidence is synthesized both qualitatively and quantitatively. It provides step-by-step guidance for those interested in conducting qualitative or quantitative reviews. The steps focus on formulating research questions, exploring methods for searching the literature, selecting studies, performing quality assessment, conducting data extraction, synthesizing evidence, identifying heterogeneity and interpreting evidence. All the sessions incorporating the various steps would provide the theoretical basis and would include hands-on experience for the students, which would ensure that the students have a grasp on the steps for conducting evidence synthesis.
Eligibility:
- PhD level: A graduate degree from an accredited/recognized university
- MScN: 16 years of Education from an accredited/recognized university
Application Process:
Complete the Visiting Student Application Form and submit the same to the Office of the Registrar at the AKU School of Nursing and Midwifery before the deadline.
