Our main task is to study, protect, and promote Indian Ocean Muslim heritage, not only material culture, art, and architecture but also intangible heritage, poetry, music and traditions.
Our team is at the image of the AKU ISMC and composed of very diverse disciplines and specialists, including historians, anthropologists, sociologists, economists, and librarians.
