​Dear colleagues, students, and friends of AKU-SONAM,​

​As I wrap up the first year of serving as the interim dean of SONAM, PK I am overwhelmed with joy and a sense of fulfillment at having the opportunity to serve my alma mater. It has been a rollercoaster ride but I'm lucky to be leading such a wonderful team of faculty and staff members, researchers, and colleagues. Thanks is also due to the University leaders who go out of their way to mentor and support the School in every way possible, and our brilliant students, donors, partners, and alumni for their unending contribution to our success and growth.

While 2023 marked a milestone 40th anniversary year for the University, it was double the celebration at SONAM as we completed 20 years of our MScN programme – the first Master of Science in Nursing programme in Pakistan! Dr Afaf Meleis, member, Board of Trustees, AKU, visited the campus briefly but left a lasting impact with her words of wisdom for our students, faculty and staff members as well as the Nursing Services team at AKUH, all of whom gave a warm welcome to her at the School’s Rufayda Courtyard.
