Haron N. Kibwage
Finance and Administration Manager

Haron currently serves as the Finance and Administration Manager in the Department of Internal Medicine, Aga Khan University. He is an experienced financial management specialist with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and MBA in Finance and Project Management. In addition, he is a qualified Certified Public Accountancy (CPA) professional.​

With over 20 years’ experience in finance, Haron has previously worked with Strathmore University, Heritage Hotels and ACROSS South Sudan in various positions. Prior to joining Aga Khan University, he served as the Finance Officer for ACROSS South Sudan where he was responsible for strategy formulation, financial planning and reporting, budget management, control and systems compliance.  

Haron has a rich experience in people’s management, proven knowledge and expertise in adherence to financial policies, budget planning and development, monitoring expenditure and control. He is also skilled in guiding project holders on project financial management, well experienced in financial training and building capacity of finance teams. 

Haron’s social interests include consulting pro bono for non-profit organizations and social boards during his free time.​


Betty Muchai 
Program Administrator

Betty currently serves as the program administrator in the Department of Medicine. Her key roles include organization and coordination of departmental activities to ensure smooth running of the Internal Medicine Residency Programme.

Betty holds Bachelor’s Degree in Business administration – Human Resources from Kenya Methodist University and Diploma in Secretarial from Kenya Technical University (Former Kenya Polytechnic). She has attended several courses and training which include Geographical Information Systems, Research and Management communication tools and Grants Management with University of Washington.

Prior to joining Aga Khan University, she worked with Community projects and Research in several organizations which include Eastern Deanery AIDS Relief Program (EDARP), St. Johns Community Centre, University of Washington Treatment, Research and Expert Education (TREE) Program where she amassed a wealth of experience in program administration from non-governmental organizations as well research and learning institutions.

Betty is adventurer’s, she explores new places and new ways of doing things.  She has ardor for working with community to help serve the under privileged.

Mercy Kitti  
Personal Assistant

Mercy currently serves as the Personal Assistant to the Chair, in the Department of Internal Medicine, Aga Khan University.  

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration – Marketing from Africa Nazarene University. In addition, she is a Certified Insurer with a C.O.P from College of Insurance. 

With 10 years’ experience in Business Administration, Insurance & Human Resource Management, Mercy has previously worked with Lifecare International Insurance Brokers, Pwani Oil Products Limited & Trufoods Limited.

Prior to joining Aga Khan University, she served as the Executive Assistant to the Managing Director – Trufoods Limited, where she was responsible for strategic planning, operation support, human resource management, administrative support and managerial functions coordination. 

Socially, Mercy really enjoys listening to music, travelling & reading.


Annastacia Mbithi
Senior Assistant

Annastacia Mbithi joined the Department of Medicine as an administrator and a research assistant dedicated to supporting faculty in clinical areas including medical research, medical reporting, critical care, and fellowship programs. Also, she supports the department in quality matters. 

Prior to joining the department, she worked in coordinating presidential and specialized units at Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi. She has over 6 years of working experience in Health care administration. Annastacia holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Systems Management from Kenyatta University and a master’s degree in Public Health (Epidemiology and disease control).

She enjoys traveling and exploring nature.
