The Oncology Services section is at the forefront of many exciting research initiatives in oncology. Our faculty and trainees are involved in high-level research with many of our initiatives been published and cited widely. As Oncology is a truly multidisciplinary specialty, we believe in collaborative research with our partners within our university, as well as outside the university with regional stakeholders and international partners.

Our focus in research is to establish epidemiological characteristics of indigenous African population with cancer, work on cost-effective cancer prevention strategies and treatment modalities and increasing awareness about cancer in general population. It is our endeavor to prepare our future generations for next level of translation research.

Research in the field of palliative care currently a thesis development by one of the medicine residents: Effect of Targeted Psychotherapy (dignity therapy) on Quality of Life in Advanced Cancer Patients receiving Palliative Care at Aga Khan University Hospital: A Parallel Group Randomised Control Trial .
