Infectious Diseases and HIV


The Section of Infectious Disease (ID) has three full-time and one part-time faculty member who are nationally and internationally recognized for their work in a variety of ID sub-specialties most notably in research related to HIV medicine focusing on novel therapies, co-infection with other viruses such as HPV, the epidemiology and epigenetics of HIV, HIV drug resistance, and response to antiretroviral therapy (ART). In addition our Section plays a crucial role in the hospital by managing the antimicrobial stewardship program, monitoring antibiotics resistance patterns, and ensuring that appropriate antibiotics are used to enhance patient care and safety.
