Allan Rajula MBChB, MMed, FSG (SA) Phys
Dr. Allan Rajula, the Section Head of Gastroenterology, graduated from the University of Nairobi with a MBChB degree and in 2003 and earned his MMed degree in Internal Medicine from the same university in 2009. He joined Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi in 2014 after completing a fellowship in gastroenterology.
Prior to this, he served at the Karen Hospital as a physician and as a Registrar in the Department of Clinical Medicine and Therapeutics at the University of Nairobi. Dr. Rajula also served as a part-time lecturer at Kenyatta University. He is a Fellow of the Subspecialty of Gastroenterology of the College of Physicians in South Africa, and his research interests include the pathophysiology of liver disease, epidemiology and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, and improving colon cancer screening in Kenya.
He has trained in therapeutic endoscopy procedures including endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP), double balloon enteroscopy, capsule endoscopy, and Ph impendence manometry. Dr. Rajula is a member of the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA), Kenya Medical Association, Kenya Association of Physicians (KAP), Kenya Gastroenterology Society, and the European Association for the Study of Liver Disease (EASLD).
