Our Specialties

The unit consists of a number of sub-specialty services including paediatric neurology, paediatric cardiology, neonatology, paediatric nephrology and post-natal and immunization clinics. In addition, we also offer comprehensive care for chronic diseases like sickle cell disease, asthma and HIV.

On site, the out-patient clinic runs daily from 8am to 8pm. It has a blend of general paediatric practice as well as sub-specialty clinics as mentioned above. We also have coverage of 9 outreach centres across Dar es Salaam including Tandika, Masaki, Kigamboni, Tabata, Ukonga, Mbagala, Mbezi, Kimara and Town centre run by general paediatricians, family physicians and residents. All these provide a unique blend of conditions creating a diverse and rich clinical learning environment for our trainees.

Our inpatient unit consists of a general paediatric ward, a dedicated neonatal and paediatric intensive care unit (NICU and PICU) and a neonatal high dependency unit (NHDU). All services offered are in conformity with the Joint commission international accreditation (JCIA); this ensures patient safety and highest standards of quality which we believe should yield an all-round paediatrician.
