Dr Rida-e-Maria Qazi holds a PhD in Molecular Medicine from Dr Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, Pakistan. During her doctoral research, she used tissue engineering strategies to study the role of transcription regulators in enhancing cardiac regeneration. She joined AKU-CRM in 2022 as a research associate under HEC's Grand Challenge Fund project. Later on, she started her postdoctoral fellowship in 2023 under the Wellcome Leap-funded project that aims to develop gene editing therapies for β-thalassemia and sickle cell anemia. Currently, she serves as senior instructor at CRM, where she is interested in developing cell-free and genetic modification-based therapeutic strategies, including stem cell–derived exosomes for degenerative diseases and engineered targeted delivery platforms for gene editing applications.
