Neonatal Resuscitation Programme

Introduction and Aims

With an estimated 298,000 neonatal deaths annually and a reported neonatal mortality rate of 49 per 1000 live births, Pakistan accounts for 7% of global neonatal deaths.

This Programme is designed for healthcare providers working in NICU to allow them to take part in informative interactive lectures and hands-on sessions on Hi-fidelity simulator. The learners will be introduced to the basic concepts of neonatal resuscitation and learn how to evaluate and establish appropriate treatment interventions in the stabilization of an acutely ill neonate.

 Learning Outcomes

  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of a neonate in cardio respiratory distress.
  • Explain the indication for and perform the steps of neonatal resuscitation.
  • Perform effective airway management.
