CIME receives full accreditation
On 21th December 2021, Aga Khan University's
Centre for Innovation in Medical Education (CIME), Pakistan, became the first
simulation centre in South Asia to receive Full 5-year Accreditation in the
discipline of Teaching and Education from the Society for Simulation in
Healthcare, SSH.

The CIME team
presented 4 abstracts: 1 workshop, 2 panel discussions and 1 poster
presentation at the International Meeting for Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH)
2022. These were on interprofessional education in simulation; mining a
simulation centre's operational data; continuous professional development of
simulation centre staff, and student partnership in simulation based
education.

The Pumping Heart Simulator
The Aga Khan
University received a patent for the “Pumping Heart Simulator”. The patent
lists Professor Saulat Fatimi, Dr. Mohammed Bin Pervez and Professor Charles
Docherty as the inventors.

City-wide pilot project of needs assessment for AEDs
A study

CIME completes the second Clinical Simulation Educators Programme in
Nairobi
The second
Clinical Simulation Educators Programme in Nairobi was held on February 28 -
March 4, 2022. The programme drew sixteen participants, with internal
attendees from the Medical College, Paediatrics and Accident and Emergency.
Also in attendance were participants from Gertrudes Children's Hospital
Nairobi, Kenya Medical Training Centre and five from Ghana: Accra College of
Medicine as well as The University of Cape Coast School of Medical Sciences.

Kids of AKU visit CIME Nairobi
On 11th December 2021,
AKU Nairobi hosted the first “Kids of AKU” day. CIME was one of the
departments that hosted the participants, with five groups of thirty
children, along with their parents and guardians, coming through the door.

workshop titled "How to restart the heart".
