Applicants for the Residency Programme must hold a bachelor's degree in medicine (MBChB degree or an equivalent medical qualification) that is recognised by the Aga Khan University and the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council of Kenya. In addition, they must have completed one-year of internship after qualification, and be registered or registrable with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council or the Tanganyika Medical Council. A further one-year field experience may be desirable.

A notification will be sent to your online application portal, alongside an email acknowledging successful submission.

Letter of application supporting intention to enter the programme
A current curriculum vitae
A statement of purpose demonstrating intent to join the programme, of not more than 1000 words
Certified copies of Medical School transcripts and degree certificates
Medical board registration certificate and Annual Retention Certificate (applicable to those in practice for more than one year); or receipt as proof of payment for the certificate
Letter of internship completion or clearance letter from medical superintendent of internship station
Letter(s) of appointment for previous employment, where applicable
The original bank slip or M-Pesa transaction code as proof of payment of a non-refundable application fee
National identity card or passport biodata page
A recent coloured passport photograph
All applicants meeting the required criteria will be expected to present themselves to a selection process including written tests (multiple choice questions and critical analysis exercise), panel interviews, informal interaction as well as a clinical encounter between July 6 and 12, 2021.
In view of the prevailing global pandemic, the tests and interviews will be conducted remotely via electronic platforms for all candidates. However, a limited number of sitting spaces will be provided at the campus for those who may not have stable internet or reliable electricity; however, applicants will still be required to bring their own devices.
Positions are filled on the basis of merit, and successful candidates are expected to join the Programme in January 2022.
