Life Conversations
Life Conversations is a public lecture series by the Aga Khan University's Medical College, East Africa. The quarterly forum uses a hybrid system, with a physical town hall and a virtual audience. It provides a platform for public discussions aimed at practical, relevant, and impactful solutions on current societal issues.
Upcoming Session: Scroll Smart: What to believe in the age of AI and Online Influence.
Across Africa, young people are not just consumers of digital health information but are shaping the conversation. Yet in an increasingly complex digital landscape, they are also among those most exposed to and at times influenced by misinformation and false narratives. In response, many are stepping up to challenge fake news, amplify credible voices, and use digital platforms as powerful tools for advocacy, education, and social accountability, driving more informed and equitable health outcomes.
This session will bring together young voices, experts, and digital storytellers to explore how youth across Africa are navigating digital health spaces—both exposed to misinformation and actively shaping the conversation. It will highlight how they challenge false narratives, amplify credible voices, and use digital platforms to drive more informed and equitable health outcomes.
This session is a side event of the World Health Summit Regional Meeting, hosted by Aga Khan University, and aligns with the sub-theme of Gender, Equity, Youth Leadership and Social Accountability.
