Damaris Kemunto Obwogi is an experienced healthcare and research professional with over 18 years of experience in clinical care, research and project coordination, having worked extensively with KEMRI-Wellcome Trust in Kilifi. She holds a Higher National Diploma in Pediatrics, a Bachelor of Science in Health Systems Management and professional certification in Project Management.

Her work has had a regional impact, including collaboration with newborn care trainers across East Africa to improve survival outcomes for vulnerable infants. She also played a key role in developing a county referral system in Kilifi, helping to streamline patient care pathways and enhance access to health services.

Driven by a commitment to mentorship and professional development, Damaris focuses on empowering individuals and fostering a culture of excellence. She is particularly passionate about building high-performing teams and advancing clinical research capacity. Her vision is to position Vishakani as a leading clinical trial site in the region.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Damaris is actively involved in her church and community, where she supports young mothers through parenting education and child development guidance. She is guided by a strong commitment to strengthening families and creating lasting positive impact in the communities she serves.​​​
