Christine Maghanga
Project Manager
Christine Maghanga is a project Manager for the Brain-START project, where she oversees research focused on identifying neuropsychological measures and developing a diagnostic algorithm tool for detecting early onset of Alzheimer’s and Dementia disease in aging populations across Kenya and Pakistan. Her work focuses on streamlining communication between stakeholders, multisite coordination and supports regulatory compliance and risk management.
Christine holds a master’s degree in Medical Sociology (Disability studies and mental Health), from Pwani University. Her experience spans Digital Health, Research and Monitoring & Evaluation. She has led the design and scale-up of Digital Health Platforms, for Maternal health and for the Nursing workforce in Kenya, supported Monitoring and Evaluation of Emergency Disease Surveillance Systems (EARS) during Covid-19 at mHealth Kenya, and contributed to Reproductive health Randomized Trials using mobile technologies at International Centre for Reproductive Health, Kenya in Mombasa and Kilifi. She also has training in HIV counselling grounding her work in ethical and participant-centered practice.
She is driven by a belief in leveraging digital health and policy to reduce health disparities, improve access to care, and promote health equity in communities.
Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, sketching expressive pieces, exploring art, classical literature and going for afternoon runs.
