Akinyi Omom Caroline
Research Associate
Akinyi Omom holds a Bachelor of Science in Community Health and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Disease Control. She has over five years of experience in public health research coordination, with a strong foundation in women’s health and a growing interest in autism and trauma research.
She currently serves as a Research Associate at BMI, supporting the BRIDGE-Africa project, where she coordinates the project and contributes to the implementation of multidisciplinary research activities. Akinyi has specialized in full-cycle research and has worked closely with ethics boards, government agencies, academic institutions, and community stakeholders to ensure ethical rigor and local relevance. At BMI, she applies these skills to strengthen multidisciplinary projects.
She is driven by a commitment to equity, evidence-based practice, and data-driven approaches that enhance health systems and improve outcomes for vulnerable populations.
Akinyi has completed trainings in Good Participatory Practices in health research, along with certifications in implementation science and research ethics. Her interests include advancing inclusive, data-informed solutions in global health.
