​ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Sub-themes:  ​

  1. ​Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE): Scaling Evidence, Systems, and Innovation: This track invites abstracts that explore the latest evidence and innovations during the first 1,000 days and are grounded in the Nurturing Care Framework principles, spanning early learning opportunities, responsive caregiving, and safety and security for young children, including those with disabilities in marginalised settings.  We welcome abstracts that focus on interventions such as screening and early identification, childcare and parenting innovations, and early learning institutions. Contributions showcasing multi-sectoral approaches, community-led models, and policy mechanisms that enable sustainable ECDE impact are encouraged. 

  2. Neuroscience: Improving Brain and Mental Health Through Ethical and Responsible Innovation: Within this track, we invite abstracts that focus on basic and applied neuroscience, neuroethics, measurement in Neuroscience and Interventions.  

  3. Adolescent Development and Mental Health: Challenges, Opportunities, and Innovations: This track invites abstracts that examine holistic approaches to adolescent well‑being; considering identity, mental health, social environments, risk and resilience, and youth-driven solutions.  

  4. Climate and Human Development: Building Climate-Resilient Futures: This track invites abstracts that examine the growing impact of climate change on human development trajectories, adaptive strategies, community resilience, and policies that protect children and young people from climate‑related risks.  

  5. Emerging Technologies in Human Development: Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning: This track invites abstracts that examin​e how digital innovations can accelerate progress in health, education, social protection, and developmental assessment, while addressing ethical and equity considerations. It will also explore the role of data systems in improving monitoring and service delivery in low-resource settings.  

  6. The Human Development Ecosystem: Leveraging Families, Schools, Communities and Workforce for Optimal Human Development: This track invites abstracts that examine the systems and actors that shape human development, with a focus on strengthening capacities, enhancing collaboration, and building enabling environments for children and youth to thrive. It will also explore evidence on partnerships and sustainable funding models for human development. ​


Key Dates & Submission Timelines

  • Submission deadline:  April 27, 2026

  • Notification of acceptance:  May 4, 2026


Eligibility:

  • Open to internal and external researchers (early-career and established)

  • The work submitted should be relevant to the conference theme

  • An author can be involved in multiple submissions, but only once as the presenting author


Abstract Guidelines

  • Clearly indicate under which sub-theme you are submitting your abstract 

  • The abstract title should be written in sentence-casing, with no abbreviations

  • The abstract title should be concise and clearly convey the subject of the research 

  • The abstract must be structured to include the following sections: Background, Methods, Results and Conclusion

  • Abbreviations are to be defined on first mention in the text, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses [e.g. HIV exposed but uninfected (HEU)]

  • Citations, tables, figures and graphs are not to be included in the abstract

  • Include 3–5 keywords

  • Include your full name and affiliation/s of all authors in the abstract

  • Include the submitting author’s contact email address

  • The presenting author must be underlined

  • Preferred presentation type (oral only/ poster only/ oral&poster) must be clearly indicated

  • Only original projects with results will be considered; proposals, protocols or systematic reviews will not be accepted


​Kindly note that the reviewers will make the final decision about the type of presentation and will advise the presenting author in the feedback.

  • Word limit: Maximum 250 words

  • Font type: Times New Roman

  • Font size: 12 

  • Line spacing: 1.5

  • File name (name of the author and shortform of the sub-theme)

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.​
