IHD International Conferences
Like print and virtual publications, professional conferences provide an important platform for the sharing and dissemination of knowledge. In low- and middle-income regions of the Majority World, there are limited opportunities for research, policy, and practice professional to share their work and benefit from the work of others. The Institute’s first two conferences, as profiled here, demonstrate the imperative to facilitate knowledge dissemination through the medium of conferences. The success of these two conferences has inspired the Institute to develop a consortium funding framework to raise funds to support the Institute’s vision of establishing a permanent biennial conference.
