Inauguration of Ambulance, Elevator and Cafeteria

On February 13, 2025, the Aga Khan University’s Research and Training Centre in Matiari, Sindh, celebrated a significant milestone with the inauguration of a new elevator, ambulance, and staff cafeteria. Organized and facilitated by Dr. Fayaz Umrani​ and Mr. Aadil Qureshi, this event was led by Dr. Asad Ali, underscoring the Centre’s commitment to addressing the healthcare needs of research participants and enhancing community well-being in rural Pakistan. The newly installed elevator, unveiled at the Mother and Child Health Care Research and Training Centre, promises greater accessibility and comfort for pregnant participants, ensuring their safety and ease of movement. The addition of a dedicated fully equipped ambulance represents a transformative step forward, strengthening the Centre’s capacity to provide emergency referrals and support upcoming projects aimed at improving maternal and child health outcomes. Complementing these advancements, the staff cafeteria will foster a supportive environment for the Centre’s dedicated team, enabling them to continue their vital work with renewed energy. This milestone reflects Aga Khan University’s ongoing dedication to advancing healthcare research and training in rural Sindh, empowering communities through innovative solutions and compassionate care.
