Project: Goat Milk–Derived Formula Alternatives (GMDFA) vs. Undiluted Goat Milk: Comparative Analysis of Infant Growth Metrics and Biological Markers

Dr. Matthew R. Olm, Assistant Professor of Integrated Physiology at the University of Colorado Boulder and collaborator on the GMDFA study, visited the Aga Khan University Research and Training Centre, Matiari, to review ongoing project activities. He was accompanied by the Director of the NRL Laboratory, the project Principal Investigator, Dr. Junaid Iqbal, Senior Manager,​ Department of CHS, Dr. Fayaz Umrani and PhD scholar Dr. Nimra Mazhar.
During the visit, Dr. Olm toured the research facility, engaged with the field and laboratory teams, and observed study operations in the villages of Moharam Khaskheli and Kot Ferozdin Shah. The delegation also met with the local community leader, Mr. Zainul Abdin, in Kot Ferozdin Shah, underscoring the importance of community leadership and local support in facilitating research.
The visit concluded with a brief debriefing with site leadership, reinforcing collaborative engagement and the value of community partnerships in ensuring effective study implementation.
Overall, the visit strengthened collaborative understanding between the project investigators and field teams and reaffirmed the critical role of community partnerships in maintaining operational continuity in rural settings.
