Media innovation and sustainability network​

The futures project is a project undertaken jointly by the Aga Khan University Graduate School of Media and Communications (AKU GSMC) and the Deutsche Welle Akademie (DWA). The multiyear initiative features a Network of Regional Partners from which would grow leading-edge training and coaching programmes as well as a world-class, globally prominent Innovation Center.​​ Read more​.​

Managing Conflict in Today's Newsroom

Managing conflict in today’s newsroom is a five-day programme offered in partnership with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS). The programme aims at giving news managers the ability to resolve workplace conflict and disagreement in order to lead effectively. Stories of Hope​

This project, is an initiative of Aga Khan Foundation and the Aga Khan University’s Graduate School of Media and Communications, supported by the European Union (EU). Advancing Gender Equality through Civil Society ​

Advancing Gender Equality through Civil Society (AGECS) is a Sub-Project of Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) and Global Affairs Canada’s Foundations for Empowerment and Education (F4EE) initiative. F4EE is active in five countries :Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Uganda and seeks to improve education systems at the pre-primary and primary level, in addition to strengthening women’s empowerment and gender equality. Women RISE​

Through the project, GSMC and the African Population Health Research Centre (APHRC) will co-develop research communication training modules and workshops that are designed to equip the research teams with the expertise and skills that will put them in strong positions to share knowledge, research findings, experiences, and evidence through various mass media platforms. The trainings and workshops will also enhance the capacity of the research teams and the HPRO to leverage on the created networks to not only frame messages for specific target audiences, but also participate in the production of content for campaigns and advocacy. Media Managers Boot Camp

The Media Management Boot Camp is an initiative of the Aga Khan University’s Graduate School of Media and Communications, with support from the U.S. Embassy in Kenya. It offers participants an opportunity to critically examine the challenges and opportunities facing the East African media in a time of digital transition, shifting business models, and the COVID-19 crisis.
