The Section of Infectious Diseases strives in ensuring excellent patient care and patient safety. We pride ourselves in the services we provide which include:
A daily ID, STI, and HIV clinic.
Patient and family support services.
Infectious diseases coverage for both the wards and intensive care units.
A dedicated HIV-in-pregnancy clinic co-managed by both a HIV specialist and an obstetrician.
A dedicated patient hotline, triaged by an ID nurses, to assist with questions, queries and concerns.
A travel clinic that assist with vaccinations and education to patients travelling abroad.
Our Section has a state-of-the-art microbiology laboratory with the capability to perform various specialized tests. The laboratory is the only hospital laboratory in the country to be internationally accredited through SANAS, and is staffed by a team of clinical and anatomic pathologists representing multiple areas of subspecialty expertise.
The Section of ID manages the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (AMS) to promote wiser use of antibiotics both in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
We contribute to the infection control program at the hospital and strongly believe and encourage best infection control practices to enhance patient care and safety.
