The research is expected to identify gaps in hospital current post-surgical pain management practices, and preventable analgesic adverse events by determining, the incidence of analgesic-related adverse events, and factors associated with analgesic intolerance, in 254 eligible trauma fracture patients. The information generated from the proposed project is likely to elucidate safety issues with pain management by highlighting preventable patient harm, and support a proposal for an optimized pain management protocol to reduce adverse events.
This is a grant funded contractual position for a period of one year.
