QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires previous experience managing and implementing library systems and it’s suited for someone with, or working towards, a degree in Library and Information Science.
Essential requirements:
1. Experience managing, and implementing, library systems and technologies.
2. Working knowledge of the structure and modules of an Integrated Library Management System.
3. Good working knowledge of metadata formats and schemas.
4. Experience editing, transferring, and updating batches of bibliographical records.
5. Experience managing electronic resources, from subscription to integration in
Discovery layer.
6. Good understanding of the interconnection of systems in a modern library.
7. Familiarity with library technology standards and protocols.
Desirable requirements:
1. Experience working with archive management software and archival metadata
formats
2. Experience implementing open-source software
3. Experience working in Digital Humanities projects
4. Project management skills
5. Understanding of websites and basic coding skills (HTML, CSS)
6. Management of Word Press websites
7. Familiarity working with records in non-roman script (preferably Arabic or Cyrillic)
8. Knowledge of any Middle East, South Asian or Central Asian Language
9. Familiarity working with virtual learning environments
