Introduction

The Aga Khan University Hospital Clinical Laboratories are the first in Pakistan to be accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), which is considered as a gold standard in laboratory testing in the world. We are one of the largest lab networks in the world that is CAP accredited, and with our team of highly qualified faculty, phlebotomists and technologists, we ensure to deliver fast and accurate results for routine and specialized testing, that are accepted by the doctors nationwide and globally. Our laboratory network is present in more than 290 locations spread over 125 cities in Pakistan and our value-added services include mobile app service, stat reports, SMS alert, home lab sample collection (blood, urine, stool and other samples are collected from home), e-reports, real-time critical result reporting, multi-column reports and much more.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:
  • collect lab specimens from various collection points and transport the same to stat / main laboratory as per predefined schedule / SOP 
  • distribute and deliver samples in section as per the given guidelines
  • ensure thorough visual inspection that the assigned vehicle is intact and in a good working condition prior to initiating the day’s task to avoid any delays due to any breakdown
  • assess the collection point’s staff in issue/packing/loading/transporting monthly supplies of medical surgical supplies / consumables for within / out of Karachi collection points in line with the laid down policies and procedures as and when required
  • assist in resolving any emergency that might arise to hinder the timely transportation of patient samples to clinical lab sections 
  • train new/junior transporters on their collection point routes
  • collect & deliver BME / IT equipment from collection point
  • any other responsibility assigned by Manager / Designee. 
  • If required, then responsible to collect, safety transport and deposit cash and credit card transaction slips from the medical receptionist at collection point to the main cashier at the clinical lab in line with laid down policies and procedures

Requirements

You should have:
  • Matriculation. Intermediate will be preferred
  • 2-3 years of driving light vehicles
  • valid LTV driving license
  • ability to read and write basic English
  • willingness to work in shift duties
