AKU- Department of Medicine is seeking a Fulltime Faculty, Dermatology. The incumbent will undertake clinical and educational functions under the supervision of the department or delegated individual within the department. He/she will be responsible for admitting, consulting and undertaking diagnosis and treatment of patients admitted under the dermatology service in addition to seeing patients in the dermatology clinic and supervising residents assigned to the dermatology clinic rotation. They will also see patients in a defined outreach clinic within Nairobi. The faculty will be allowed to order tests and radiology and will consult with sub-specialists when necessary to ensure top-notch patient care.

Responsibilities

The incumbent will:

• Be involved in the formation of an efficient and effective dermatology service

• Execute short and long-term strategic plans for the department

• Participate in the development of education programmes and implement mechanisms for teaching

• Lead, plan and organize the formation of an efficient dermatology service

• Develop policies, procedures, rules and regulations of the programme

• Promote and undertake research activities to strengthen the programme and AKUH Nairobi

• Organize and implement a quality assurance programme for the programme
