Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, invites applications for the position of Consultant Psychiatrist. This is a unique opportunity to join a leading healthcare institution, contributing to its mission of excellence in education, research, and patient care. The positions are based one each at Aga Khan Hospital, Gilgit and Aga Khan Medical Centre, Booni, Chitral in collaboration with Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan.

We are seeking two experienced and clinically competent psychiatrists who are passionate about providing ethical, evidence-based care and research.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities are:

  • Provide accessible, compassionate, ethical and evidence-based care to patients in the academic set up.
  • Conduct out-patient clinics and manage in-patient services.
  • Conduct research by defining a research project, undertaking research, synthesizing research findings and publishing and disseminating the conclusions to a wider audience.
  • Participate in national and international academic medical education conferences and symposiums.
  • Participate in departmental and organizational performance improvement activities.

Requirements

You should have: 

  • Completion of a structured postgraduate training program in Psychiatry.
  • FCPS, MRC Psychiatry, American Board Certification, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
  • Postgraduate clinical and research experience is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical clinical practice, academic excellence, and compassionate patient care.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a sensitive and empathetic approach to patient interaction.
  • Must uphold high standards of patient confidentiality and professional integrity.
