SRF is an autonomous organization of students at the Aga Khan University and serves as a platform for the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and experiences under the broad theme of academic curiosity. The society consists of the following wings: Academics, Resource Development and Mentorship, Communications, and Workshops.
The forum's activity is focused on promoting quality research education and opportunities to make undergraduate research more accessible and sustainable for students within AKU and across the country. Signature Events
Our mission, vision and strategic objectives highlight the values and ethos of the society and defines all our activities.
International Conferences: The International Student Research Conference (ISRC) brings together an international assembly of students and researchers to showcase emerging themes in biomedical research and help develop the technical and interpersonal abilities of participants. Students are exposed to interactive sessions with world-renowned researchers, taught how to best present their work, and encouraged to interact with colleagues to develop fruitful professional relationships.
Journal Clubs and Workshops: SRF organizes regular journal club sessions that allow students to engage in discussions with successful researchers about their work and experiences. These sessions allow students to explore possible career and research pathways, learn new research skills, and potentially network with productive researchers to seek opportunities to collaborate and publish.
Networking sessions: SRF organizes sessions for students to meet visiting faculty and alumni in order to learn about research related training and educational pathways, such as master's degrees, that they can pursue after completing their medical degrees.
