Challenge Theme 2024: Every Drop Counts

The third edition of the Aga Khan University's President's Challenge for Climate Solutions selected the theme of water, and again saw over 400 students from AKU's diverse campuses participate.

Climate change profoundly affects water availability, leading to two extremes: too much water and too little water. This dual threat disrupts agriculture, water supplies, and ecosystems, challenging efforts to sustain human and natural systems. The delicate balance of water is increasingly disturbed, highlighting the need for urgent climate action to manage both the surpluses and scarcities of water that it causes.

Every individual has the power to make a positive impact on water stress and use. From small changes in our habits, while multiplied across communities, to policy and technological shifts, can lead to big improvements in water management.
