Dean Adil Haider, Medical College, warmly welcomed the students on Day One and offered words of advice and encouragement. Students then participated in several interactive sessions that addressed their questions, concerns and thoughts. Dr Laila Akbarali, Interim Vice Provost – Student Affairs and Services and University Registrar, expressed her enthusiasm as she concluded the Orientation with hearty congratulations.

The virtual orientation commenced with a Day Zero induction, where students were introduced to AKU's online facilities and Blended and Digital Learning. Students were taught about AKU's student portal and the navigation for AKUROSS. Day One was headlined by the welcome notes by Dean Adil Haider and Dr Laila Akbarali as well as sessions from the Registrar's Office and the Counselling and Service Wellness Office. Day Two was conducted by the Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME).

The Orientation will continue for the students when they arrive in person on campus. It will be taking place from February 22, 2023.​
