Aga Khan University through its Institute of Educational Development (IED) has signed on to partner with INNOVentures Global (Pvt) Ltd’s ‘STEMx - STEM School for the World’, to further the quality of science and mathematics teaching and learning through joint programmes and collaborations, over a period of three years.
The partnership aims to build on IED’s mission to train science and mathematics teachers and arm them with cutting-edge scientific knowledge to inspire young learners to take up STEM careers. It will also provide valuable field experience opportunities for IED’s current master’s level students.
In addition to joint engagement in consultations and research on science and mathematics teaching, IED and STEMx will also jointly host a biennial conference on teaching and educational issues.
“This partnership is an excellent opportunity that brings together IED’s rich experience in the field of education, academic rigor, deep engagement and robust network of teachers; and STEMx’s high-end, cutting-edge, student-centric approach to 21st century learning and career skills, as well as its national and global network to improve learning outcomes using STEM pedagogy,” says Dr Tasneem Anwar, Assistant Professor & IED’s lead for the programme.
