Life Conversations is a public lecture series by the Aga Khan University's Medical College, East Africa. The quarterly forum uses a hybrid system, with a physical town hall and a virtual audience. It provides a platform for public discussions aimed at practical, relevant, and impactful solutions on current societal issues. Started in February 2023, we have held 10 editions so far.

Online Culture: How online content influences our society politically, economically and socially
A discussion on the powerful role of digital content in shaping today’s social dynamics. From news headlines and viral videos to influencer narratives and grassroots social media campaigns, digital platforms have become central to how we form opinions, mobilize around causes, and make everyday decisions.
We’ll examine how these tools influence political discourse, from mobilizing collective action, shaping election outcomes to amplifying civic voices. We’ll also look at how digital trends drive consumer behavior, from viral product endorsements to shifts in spending habits.
We will also unpack the impact of digital content on public perceptions of health and wellness, including how misinformation and influencer-driven narratives can sway beliefs about medicine, fitness, and mental health.
Date & Time: August 21, 2025 from 5.30PM
