Library collection is obviously one of the most important basic resources upon which the utility of library depends. PDCN Library provides a wide range of books, journals and other reading materials in English and ​Urdu. Library stock consists of 18,000 books on variety of subjects:

General Collection
This is the main collection comprising high quality selected books. This collection is organised according to Dewey's Decimal Classification Scheme and shelved subjects wise according to call numbers (100-999) pasted on the spine of each item. Books are available for circulation to all registered library members for specific book lending policy.

Reference Collection
A significant number of current reference sources are available on reference shelves. Dictionaries, encyclopaedias, handbooks, directories, yearbooks, atlases and bibliographies are distinct feature of this collection. The reference books can only be consulted within the library.

Journal Collection
The library is subscribed to more than 17 national and international journals and four magazines. The current issues of the periodicals are displayed on shelves in the library. Back volumes of these periodicals are bound and shelved separately.

Multimedia Collection
Multimedia section provides access to audiovisual material, CD-ROMs, and DVDs.

Newspaper Clippings
The library is maintaining newspaper clippings from two major national dailies (Dawn, Jang) on 10 different broad subject areas related to academic programmes.

Dissertation/ theses
Dissertations of AKU-IED students from 2004 onwards are available for only reference purpose and consulted within library.
