    Introduction

    Dr Sajid Ali is the Amir Sultan Chinoy Endowed Professor and Director of Research at AKU-IED. He holds a PhD in Education Policy Studies from the University of Edinburgh, an MEd in Leadership and Policy from Monash University, and a Master’s in Sociology from the University of Karachi. With teaching experience at institutions such as the University of Edinburgh, Karachi University, and Hamdard University, Dr Ali specializes in globalization and education policy, governance, education reforms, privatization, and evidence-informed policymaking. As Pakistan Country Coordinator for GPE-KIX, he has significantly contributed to national policies, including the National Education Policy (2009), SESP, Non-Formal Education Sindh (2018), and the Teaching License Policy for Sindh 2023.
