Pakistan Basic Life Support (PBLS) Course

Save a Life, Save Humanity

Developed by CETE, the Pakistan Basic Life Support (PBLS) course is the country’s first locally developed, context-specific BLS training. It is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the critical skills needed to respond effectively to cardiac, respiratory, and trauma emergencies in Pakistan. Pakistan Basic Life Support Final Logo (1).png

Why PBLS?

Pakistan continues to face alarmingly low survival rates from sudden cardiac arrest, trauma, choking, and severe bleeding, both in and out of hospitals. While international BLS trainings exist, they are often expensive, logistically difficult to access, and focused on causes like coronary artery disease, which do not fully reflect Pakistan’s broader emergency landscape.

PBLS was developed to address this critical gap. It prepares healthcare professionals to manage high-burden emergencies such as road traffic injuries, pediatric incidents, drowning, and flood-related trauma. Healthcare professionals are often the first and last line of defense in emergencies. With a focus on timely, effective response, PBLS empowers providers to deliver lifesaving interventions that are relevant to the healthcare realities in Pakistan.
