Bachelor of Midwifery Science (Post-RM), Uganda

The two and a half-year Bachelor of Midwifery Science (Post-RM) programme prepares nurses to provide safe, competent, culturally responsive and quality care at all levels of the health care system with focus on reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health for the families and communities by integrating knowledge, skills and attitudes from humanistic, behavioural and natural sciences.

The programme provides Registered Midwives and Registered Comprehensive Nurses with an opportunity to upgrade their diploma qualification to degree level.

Eligibility Criteria

Route A: EM/ECN to RM/RCN to BMS (Post-RM)

Form IV education; “O” level, with a “Credit” in English and Biology or Biological Sciences, a “Pass” in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics and a Division III minimum aggregate
Certificate of Registration issued by the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council

Route B: RM/RCN to BMS (Post-RM)

“A” Level with a “Principal Pass” in Biology or Biological Sciences
You must have a Certificate of Registration issued by the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council
At least two years working experience as Registered Midwives and Registered Comprehensive Nurses
