Introduction

Aga Khan University, chartered in 1983 as Pakistan's first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research and health care of international standard relevant to Pakistan and the region. The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital has well-equipped investigative services and provides state-of-the-art clinical facilities.

The Department of Surgery provides comprehensive and sub-specialty care in the areas of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dental-Oral, Maxillo-Facial Surgery, General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery.  The department has 113 full-time and part-time faculty with a strong commitment towards teaching and research. Formal structured undergraduate teaching, postgraduate residency and fellowship programmes are integrated into the academic functions of the department.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Senior Instructor/ Assistant Professor, Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery.

Responsibilities

The appointee will have an independent consultant status and undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and specified administrative activities.

Requirements

The appointee must have completed a structured post-graduate training programme from a reputable institution and possess FCPS, FRCS, American Board or equivalent qualification. Candidates with one year post residency fellowship in head neck reconstruction from a reputable institute will be preferred.

Applicants for Assistant Professor should have at least three years of experience, while those for Senior Instructor require at least two years’ experience in a reputable institution. In addition, they should have demonstrated scholarship through research, publications and/or contribution to education.
