Introduction

The Department of Surgery provides comprehensive and sub-specialty care in the areas of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dental-Oral, Maxillo-facial Surgery, General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery. With regards to Paediatric Surgery, there is strong collaboration with the Department of Paediatrics & Child Health and the Children’s Hospital Service Line.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Assistant / Associate Professor, Paediatric Surgery.

Responsibilities

You will have an independent consultant status and will also be responsible to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and specified administrative activities.

Requirements

You must have completed a structured postgraduate training programme and possess FCPS, Intercollegiate FRCS (UK), American Board or equivalent qualification in Paediatric Surgery. For Assistant Professor rank, you should have at least two years’ experience as Senior Instructor or equivalent, with related research publications. For Associate Professor rank, you should preferably have at least five to six years of association as Assistant Professor/Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at a high volume centre in a university based teaching set-up.

Applicants for Associate Professor should have at least 8 years of teaching / research experience in a HEC recognized University or postgraduate institution, with good research profile/publications.

In addition, you should have demonstrated scholarship through research & number of publications in indexed and peer-reviewed journals and contribution to education. Candidates with experience of pediatric urology will be preferred.
