Introduction

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has nine community-based field sites across Pakistan (including five in Karachi) and focuses on research for the betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that caters to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities

You will be expected to supervise supply chain management of outreach field offices including procurement, inventory management, warehousing, community liaison, office maintenance and environment stability, field sites closeout and asset dispose-off management.

You will be responsible to:
  • ensure proper office maintenance and administration which includes safety and security, housekeeping and maintenance 
  • ensure that proper procurement process has been followed and liaise with project supervisors and concerned departments for smooth processing of procurement requests
  • frequently conduct audits to ensure that stocks are in-line with the records maintained
  • present audit findings and suggest improvements as per the policies and project requirements
  • ensure proper close out to be followed while closing the field site and also follow the asset write-off process properly
  • perform monitoring visits of field site offices to ensure compliance of inventory management policies.

Requirements

You should have:
  • a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Research Administration, Administrative Sciences, Economics or equivalent, preferably with some relevant additional diploma or certification
  • at least three years of related experience, preferably in a reputable healthcare or research organization
  • excellent interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills
  • ability to effectively work independently as well with diverse teams
  • proficiency in the use of computers, particularly the MS Office package
  • resilience and ability to cope-up with work pressure and meet stringent deadlines
  • willingness to frequently travel to field sites frequently.
This is a closed-ended position based in Karachi.
