Introduction

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Medical officer for Day care oncology at Clifton Medical Services. CMS is part of The Aga Khan University Hospital’s Outreach Program designed to conveniently provide quality healthcare services to patients closer to where they live and work, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Our team of highly qualified, trained, and experienced doctors, nurses, technicians, and administrative staff is equipped to provide compassionate care, diagnosis, and treatment for all our patients.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:
  • assess patient before and during chemotherapy administration
  • enter chemotherapeutics in accordance with consultants’ advice
  • prescribe post-chemotherapy medications
  • perform outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including and not limited to lumbar-puncture, intrathecal chemotherapy, paracentesis, bone marrow aspiration and trephine biopsy
  • participate in outpatient clinics and patient management under supervision
  • ensure proper documentation of medical record and record keeping
  • effectively communicate with patients and consultants
  • actively participate in journal clubs and continuous medical education
  • work and coordinate with multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other allied health persons.
  • perform patient’s initial evaluation, investigation, and management to maintain consistent high clinical quality and service standards
  • perform medical procedures under supervision.

Requirements

You should have:
  • MBBS degree and additional diploma, MCPS, FCPS-I or MRCP-I
  • at least two to three years of relevant experience 
  • a valid license from Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC)
  • ability to work independently and with teams
  • ability to work under pressure on different rotations/shifts
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • a valid BLS certificate
