Introduction

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is the academic department of the University to support wide range of in-patient and outpatient care services pertinent to general obstetrics and gynaecology including lactation consultancy, family planning and parenting education. In addition to the core services, department also caters to wide range of specialized services of Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Urogyneoclogy and Pediatrics & Adolescent gynaeoclogy. The department also offers formal post graduate training programs of residency and fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine, Urogynecology and Gynecologic Oncology.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Instructor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

  • perform daily team rounds, formulate cure plan and expedite discharges on a daily basis in consultation with senior faculty members and fellows
  • develop and practice a system that is quality-based and has an academic and service model embedded in it
  • supervise Residents for clinical and research activities
  • assist senior faculty members in Operating Room, Labour Room and clinics
  • teach and train undergraduates and postgraduates according to the defined standards and curriculum
  • conduct related clinical research
  • participate in departmental and organisational performance improvement activities.

Requirements

You should have:

  • an MBBS degree and a valid PMDC license, preferably having completed FCPS in Obstertics and Gynaecology
  • completed structured postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from a reputable institution 
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • excellent procedural skills, ability to provide quality and safe patient care in a diverse setting
  • ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently.
