Message from the Office of Associate Vice Provost

Aga Khan University (AKU) is committed to the development of human capacities through the discovery and dissemination of knowledge, and application through service.

To further this mission AKU engages in cutting edge research and innovation to influence societal change and to inspire young minds and the future generation. Its research in health sciences is globally recognised for quality and relevance to issues of health in the context of low-income countries. As AKU transitions from a largely health sciences focused university towards a liberal arts university, there is emerging strength in research in social sciences, humanities and arts.

Through strategic direction setting, policy formulation and governance the office of Associate Vice Provost plays a driving role in enabling research and scholarship at AKU. It supports faculty, students and staff in seeking research grants, supports research innovation and communication at AKU, leads the development of thematic research framework, enables optimal utilization of state of the art core facilities for research in health sciences, engages with national and international research partners, and supports the development of policies and procedures for undertaking research with ethics and integrity.

Information on all aspects of research at AKU is found on this website.
