The Department of Infection Prevention and Hospital
Epidemiology (DIPHE) organised a workshop in collaboration with CIME for
Infection Control Nurses and Staff (ICLNs). The purpose of this workshop
was to enhance the knowledge of ICLNs ranging from the basic principle of
Infection Control to the prevention of device associated Infections, and
environmental safety.
In addition, participants were educated in how
to conduct the ‘Prevention and Control of Infection’ audit at the bedside
through simulated practice. The critical importance of ensuring effective
collaboration and ensuring around-the-clock compliance to infection control
practices in clinical teams were some of the core objectives that were
achieved.
